Yet Another Zombie Defense HD:
This little hidden gem is unlike most Zombie games I've had the pleasure of playing. This one has a great multiplayer setup, with online capabilities, and is loaded with other kinds of enemies beyond just zombies. The entire game is spent in one zone which looks like a Walmart parking lot, minus the cars, the carts and the parking spaces. Your first set of weapons are normal modern weapons but eventually, you will get laser beams and freeze rays that brings the game into the science fiction genre. I quite enjoy zombie movies/games so I may be a wee bit bias in my opinion.

The achievements themselves are not overly difficult but you do have to work for them (it's not a Ratalaika!), so if you don't like a challenge this game isn't for you. As such, it is also not overly difficult, so if you need a game that makes you pull your hair out, this game is also not for you. I personally played it casually, between games, and found the last few achievements to be a bit luck-based. I will do my best to lead you in a path that avoids depending on luck for all but one achievement (due to drop rate RNG, I can't determine how long it will take or how lucky you will get with the number of zombies surrounding you when the drop rate works in your favour but can vouch for its success).
The WT will be set up as a solo play but is, at times, easier with more than one person. I will note this throughout the WT but won't depend on more than one person due to the vast majority of us who like to play alone. The majority of the WT will focus on Defense mode and the last 4 achievements on Endless mode. With the endless mode being the location for the RNG-based achievement, I think it is best to save them for last.
Controls:
- Select/Buy
- Cancel/Next Night
- Reload/Buy Ammo
- Place/Remove
- Switch Weapons/Secondary and change tabs on purchase screen
- Grenades
- Shoot
- Move
- Aim
DEFENSE MODE:
Start in Defense mode, which will be your primary mode for 95% of the game. Your goal is going to be to reach the last 6 waves without purchasing anything. You can use items you pick up and still get upgrades. The only upgrade I suggest you get is the Health Regen for these achievements. The basic strategy will be to go in a circle, around the outside of the arena, while shooting backwards at the slow zombies that follow. Imagine CoD Zombies, for example, circling around the horde that is chasing you. Wave 6 may be a little tough compared to the rest but by the time you get it done you should have unlocked:
Private
Score 10,000 points in defense mode
1 guide
Corporal
Score 30,000 points in defense mode
1 guide
Sergeant
Score 80,000 points in defense mode
1 guide
Saving up
Survive 6 nights without buying anything

Add points to health/health regen. Now grab yourself a chainsaw and go to the bottom right corner. Stay glued to that corner, chainsawing everything and maybe throwing the odd grenade when something other than zombies gets near. You may need to quickly grab a health kit (red cross in a white circle) or feel the want to grab some cash. This is up to you. Keep up the grind until you unlock:
Lieutenant
Score 150,000 points in defense mode

You will likely die before hitting any higher if you even hit those. When this happens it is time to change the strategy. You are going to build a box around yourself like such:
This is your safety zone. It is a lot easier if you have 3 controllers that you can turn on, rubber band and have them shoot in 3 different directions but not needed. Your goal is to survive 16 nights, hit a million points and arm 4 turrets at once. This set up will be expanded upon as you go. You will need to eventually get the electrified barricades and said turrets. The thing about turrets is they need to be given ammo unless you buy pistols so I highly recommend focusing on that.
I also recommend avoiding trying to go for the kill specific achievements like flame throwers or freeze guns as these will take precious dollars away from you when you need to focus on building electrified barricades. These do damage to the enemy as they attack. Buy a chainsaw in case they get close. Explosive barricades are also great for crowd control but should be bought sparingly and only used in the corners and preferably on the very outside when you have 2-3 barricades thick (not like the photo but extra layers around even the ones in the photo).
Make sure to buy 4 turrets and give them each a pistol. It helps if you wait for a sale but may take an additional run if this is too difficult to pull off while maintaining barricades. Surviving 16 days, without being hit, and arming 4 turrets will unlock:
Major
Score 500,000 points in defense mode
1 guide
Colonel
Score 1,000,000 points in defense mode
1 guide
Don't fear the reaper
Kill a reaper
2 guides
Untouchable
Survive 10 nights without taking any damage
1 guide
Come get some
Build and equip four turrets

Now, you'll want to start again and repeat the steps above. but this time no turrets or extra controllers. Just focus on barricades and buying a shotgun + tons of ammo. After 300 kills you unlock:
Cheap and reliable
Kill 300 zombies with shotgun in a single game in defense mode
1 guide
Start another game, but don't shoot and don't move. You will die quickly and unlock:
Abandon all hope
Abandon all hope ye who enter here
2 guides
Start another game and this time make sure you don't miss zombies on the first day. Don't just hold down the trigger because you only get 6 clips. Don't manually reload. Assuming you don't use too much ammo you will unlock:
Efficient usage
Use no more than 6 clips during the first night
1 guide
Start another game, survive the first round then get a chainsaw. Go to the bottom right corner and kill everything with the chainsaw. Add points to Health regen x2 and Health x1 (in that order) so you can survive to round 7 and unlock the next achievement. Note that this trick will be used a fair number of the remaining achievements:
Lumberjack
Survive night 7 or higher using chainsaw only
2 guides
Immediately buy a rocket launcher. Stay in the bottom right corner and use the rocket launcher on the group that amasses in front of you. Assuming you killed enough you will unlock:
Demolition
Kill 8 zombies with a single rocket in defense mode
1 guide
Start another game, do the same trick with Chainsaw, Health regen x2 and Health x1 in the bottom right corner but also buy a ton of grenades. On the 7th night, you need to use just grenades to unlock:
Grenadier
Survive night 7 or higher using grenades only
1 guide
Start another game, do the same trick with Chainsaw, Health regen x3 and Health x1 in the bottom right corner but also buy a ton of mines. On the 9th night, place landmines on every square that you can (will mostly be around the light). Now you want all of the zombies to die by mines. You are going to have to run around to dodge the zombies that miraculously dodge all the land mines but you will eventually get them to all die by said landmines and unlock:
Watch your steps
Survive night 9 or higher using mines only
1 guide
Start another game, do the same trick with Chainsaw, Health regen x3 and Health x1 in the bottom right corner but also buy a freeze gun (on sale if possible), lots of ammo and a sniper rifle. You want to freeze a bunch of zombies in a line on night 9 and blast them with the sniper rifle. This means you can't camp the corner on night 9 as you need them chasing you to make a line. This can take a bit of luck but it is how I got it done. Once you hit 8 with a single shot the achievement unlocks:
One shot, many kills
Kill 8 zombies with a single sniper rifle bullet in defense mode
3 guides
Start another game. After night 1 you can build a cross of barricades around yourself, so you'll want one above you, one below you and one to each side of you. Replace these with armoured barricades when you can (don't use electrified barricades because these can kill enemies you want to freeze). Start saving up for a freeze gun + tons of ammo while putting points into reload speed. On night 7, you should have enough ammo and enemies + 3x reload speed. Wait for them to bunch up around you and then start spinning in a circle freezing them until you hit 25 and unlock:
Not so fast
Have 25 enemies frozen at the same time in defense mode
3 guides
Follow these steps for the next one:
Stayed in the bottom right corner the whole game.
1st wave pistol
2nd wave chainsaw + Health 50% upgrade
3rd wave chainsaw
4th wave chainsaw + Health regen 2% + bought 50 grenades (bought every round thereafter)
5th wave chainsaw + grenades
6th wave chainsaw + Health 100% + grenades
7th wave chainsaw + grenades
8th wave chainsaw + Health regen 4% + grenades
9th wave chainsaw + grenades
10th wave chainsaw + grenades + achievement unlocks so no need for an upgrade
Grenades are for anything that isn't a zombie. I only left the corner for health packs. I never dropped below 50% and it took less than 5 mins to get the achievement on my first attempt this way. I got the idea after reading the solution for the laser beam.
Combat mastery
Survive 10 nights without any barricades, turrets or mines

And the final achievement of defence mode will unlock if you follow these steps:
Stayed in the bottom right corner the whole game. Buy flamethrower as soon as it goes on sale for 4k. If you get enough banked and it doesn't go on sale, just get it for its normal price. 1st wave pistol The corner makes it easier because only 1-2 can hit you at a time. This allows you to slaughter them and gives the regen a chance to actually save you. Grab health packs + invulnerability whenever they appear.
2nd wave chainsaw + Health 50% upgrade
3rd wave chainsaw
4th wave chainsaw + Health regen 2% + Flamethrower and ammo but don't use it
5th wave chainsaw + Ammo
6th wave chainsaw + reload speed 25% + ammo + a few grenades (for anything that isn't a zombie)
7th wave chainsaw + ammo + a few more grenades
8th wave chainsaw + reload speed 50% + ammo for flamethrower
9th wave chainsaw + grenades (last wave for grenades)
10th wave flamethrower until achievement pops
Arsonist
Kill 70 enemies with flamethrower in one night in defense mode
2 guides
DEATHMATCH MODE:
This is really easy if you got 2 controllers but if not you will need to boost online or go play some random people (not hard really cuz you don't gotta win). Start a match and it pops when the 5 minutes are up
Challenger
Play through a deathmatch game

ENDLESS MODE:
There is a high degree of luck here and I can't really help too much. I still suggest running around in circles, kiting them behind you, but you will be dependent on enemy drops. If you don't get health when you need it, you will die. Fortunately, I can attest to the fact that the game is pretty giving, you will get rockets and shotguns and flamethrowers plus the chance for invincibility. If you become invisible the enemy can still see you if you shoot (and sometimes when you don't) so don't depend on it or it might ruin a good run. Make it far enough and you will unlock:
Beginner
Survive for 2:00 in endless night mode
1 guide
Survivor
Survive for 3:30 in endless night mode
1 guide
Veteran
Survive for 5:00 in endless night mode
2 guides
The last one of this mode is best summed up by the man who wrote the solution. I will quote him but I ask that you give him a thumbs up to encourage solutions like his, as this is not my idea.

TXMOOK found an easy way to get this as I got it first try when he told me. Start up Endless mode and of course you have to get kinda lucky and get them to drop a laser pickup. Once you have the laser run to the bottom left corner without killing anymore zombies. Once in the corner let the zombies pile up and when you think there is enough kinda spray the laser once across several rows to weaken them but NOT to kill them. Use a second shot to get enough kills.
Note: My xbox achievement says get 12 kills but TA says 15. Not sure why
He is right, the kill count seems to change or be different on everyone's game so not sure what your kill count will be at the time of reading this. Mine was 14. When you pull it off, and it took me a bunch of tries to get it, you will unlock:
Precise cut
Kill 15 enemies with a single laser beam
